I always look for easy recipes just so I get confident as I am very particular if the cake does not turn out right. This recipe looked good and is easy to follow. I must say this cake is very delicious but had such a sugar rush as it was just too sweet! Honestly this cake is best eaten couple of days later as it didn’t taste as sweet as it did fresh out of the oven. But can you blame me for not digging in when the cake is ready? 🙂
Ingredients
- 1cup + 2 tablespoons (150 grams) all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon (4 grams) baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 gram) salt
- 7 tablespoons (100 grams) unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon (115 grams) granulated white sugar
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- 2 teaspoons (8 grams) pure vanilla extract
AlmondTopping:
- 3/4 cup (150 grams) granulated white sugar
- 7tablespoons (100 grams) unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons cream (can use a heavy or light cream)
- 1 1/2 cups (150 grams) sliced almonds
